About Michael
Michael Scoggin, and I’m proud to serve our community as a current school board member and volunteer youth coach.
I’m a 2011 graduate of this school district, which gives me a deep appreciation for our traditions, our people, and the values that make our schools strong.
Outside the boardroom, I stay closely connected to our students and families by volunteering as a coach for second-grade basketball and kindergarten.
I believe strong schools are built on listening, steady leadership, and responsible decision-making.
I recently joined the Lewis County Port Authority Board and the Industrial Development Authority Board to help close the gap between our schools, teachers, and students entering the workforce after graduation.
I believe technology should support teachers and enhance learning, including a thoughtful approach to emerging tools like artificial intelligence with clear policies that protect students and academic integrity.
Priorities
- Strong academics and safe schools.
- Supporting teachers and staff.
- Responsible budgeting and transparency.
- Preparing students for life after graduation.
